Frequently Asked Questions
How do I maintain my stock tank pool?
All of our Stock Tank Pools include a maintenance pamphlet with the following information:
- Keep in mind, this metal pool differs from the traditional pool, therefore it is vital to use the proper amount of chemicals to prolong the life of your pool. We highly recommend our Epoxy liner Paint to add even more protection and extend the life of your pool!
- Only use the minimum amount of chlorine. Suggested number of chlorine tablets are 2-3 (1 inch) tablets per week. ALWAYS use the chlorine floater given at time of installation.
- Do NOT throw chlorine tablets directly into pool.
- If using your pool more frequently and your pool water turns green, dose up on chlorine, starting at half a tablet to one tablet, or pour liquid chlorine in the center of the pool while filter pump is on.
- Use a test kit to check pH/chlorine levels regularly.
- DO NOT MIX or combine liquids (Bromine & Chlorine) Always drain the pool before making any chemical switch.
- Run your sand filter pump 1-2 hours on and off during the daytime.
- Always contact Seabreeze Stock Tank Pools before using an alternative chemical to clean your pool!
Why should I get a Stock Tank Pool?
It goes without saying how much EASIER they are to maintain due to their manageable size and ease of installation. Let's face it, Texas summers are HOT and what better way to cool down? Our Stock Tank pools can be customized to fit your space and are very affordable! Seabreeze Pools are perfect for families, summer parties, or a cool evening with friends! Plus, no need to dig!!! Customers have even found clever ideas on designing their landscape around the pool, check out our photos for inspiration!
How do you prevent the pool from rusting?
Seabreeze Stock Tank Pools uses Hastings Stock Tanks, one of the few tanks on the market still made out of all 20GA, G90 steel. All of our tanks are galvanized steel and come straight from our manufacturer. Other features include: 4-ply lock seams with contained sealant for maximum leak protection, .875" steel pipe rolled into the top of each tank to create a crush proof rim, long lasting zinc plated .75" one piece threaded plug assembly, and largest selection of sizes available to meet your needs. Follow our maintenance instructions for optimal life span of your pool!
How many people can fit in the Stock Tank Pool?
Our stylish, rustic, and very affordable pools vary in size that range from 6 ft to 10 ft in width and all are 2 ft in height. For an average adult in a full pool, the water would reach the adults' neck when seated. The smallest pool we offer can fit 2-4 average adults, up to our largest size can fit 8 or more adults, depending on the size of the person and the distance between them.
What can you recommend for using the pools in the colder months?
During the cold months we recommend keeping a cover on your Stock Tank Pool or keep it empty if your area freezes or snows.
You may also benefit from your cold pool by one of our favorite ways to use our smallest pool, the 'POLAR PLUNGE'! The 'Polar Plunge', what we like to call an ice bath or cold water immersion, is by briefly using your tank when the water is 50-59 degrees Fahrenheit (10-15 degrees Celsius) and is very beneficial for your health! The time is determined based on reason and endurance. Ice baths are used for an array of benefits such as recovering muscles after a workout, prevent muscle soreness, boost focus and mental health, improve your sleep, reduce risk of injury, and even boost your immunity! We recommend starting slowly by emerging only your legs for 1-2 minutes, not to exceed your entire body for 10 to 15 minutes MAX!! Colder water for longer periods of time can increase your risk of hypothermia or even frostbite! Watch for skin color changes or loss of sensation in your limbs, and make sure you are safe and supervised!
What is the benefit of a Stock Tank Pool vs. an in-ground pool?
In-ground are expensive, take months to build, and have to meet so many specifications depending on your location. Stock Tank Pools give you the ease of a quick, less expensive, and easy to maintain alternative for those hot, Texas summers (and, let’s face it, most of the year!!)
How do I level the ground prior to my installation?
It is very important to set the stock tank on smooth, level ground. Just one jagged rock or hard debris under the Stock Tank can create a dent or hole in the metal once it is filled with water. You can level the area yourself or contact us if you would like us to level the ground for you! If you do not have the ground leveled by the time of delivery, we can level the ground for you for starting at an additional $149.00 and up, depending on location and choice of materials. If you do require ground-leveling, please let us know at least 5-7 business days prior to your delivery date.
We ask that you have the ground area clean of all items or debris and ready for install or ground-leveling. If your area for the Seabreeze Stock Tank is not ready for install or ground-leveling by the time of delivery, you may be charged additional fees or may require rescheduling. If you need yard cleaning or junk removal, we do provide that as well for additional fees. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns!
